Graduation Credit: Visual and Performing Arts, UC-approved Course Description: Ceramics 1-2 students explore a variety of hand-building techniques through project based learning. The process of clay is explained with every student having access to tools, equipment, glazes, and the firing process in ceramics. Ceramics 2 focuses on using the hand-building techniques learned in Ceramics 1 to build more complex forms and projects. The pottery wheel is also introduced and taught in Ceramics 2. All projects adhere to the Visual Arts California State Standards.
We will be submitting all work in Canvas this year. You'll find all of your assignments there.
Sketchbooks are required for ceramics. Sketching designs, tracking your techniques and understanding the process are all important for the course. |
We will be meeting in person every Tuesday at 12:30 in room 14 (art room).
